Chinoiserie secrétaire cabinet in Baroque style
20th C. Wood, ebonised and gilt, black-ground lacquer, as well as brass. Pedestal legs, box-shaped body with five drawers, above a hinged writing segment with eight interior storage compartments, two-door, tabernacle-shaped top with broken cornice and central vase crowning. Decorated on all sides as well as on the interior tabernacle doors and the writing flap with scenes from Chinese everyday life, depictions of scholars and birds, and centrally placed temple and dragon motifs. Original fittings.
