Flämischer Meister
Flemish master probably 18th C. Two Flemish landscapes with figure staffage. Oil on panel, cradled. Unsigned. Verso an old handwritten label with an expert report of Prof. Hübner, Freiburg i.Br. Paint loss. Restored.
These paintings are showing the influence of several Flemish painters from the late 16th until the early 18th Century and combining those elements like set-pieces into new compositions. The figure staffage is close to those used by Sebastiaen Vrancx, whilst the cornfield reminds more on works by Marten van Valckenborch. The architecture depicted in both paintings seems to date from a later period and also the execution of the tree leaves is more typical for the early 18th Century. Very decorative depictions of typical Dutch water landscapes from nice quality.
Assessment: We would like to thank Mrs Ellis Dullaart, Assistant Curator, Dpt. Dutch and Flemish Old Master Paintings, Rijksbureau voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie (RKD), Den Haag, for the scientific advice via E-Mail, based on photos.

deutsch Wohl 18. Jh.
Zwei flämische Landschaften mit Figurenstaffage. Öl auf Holz, parkettiert. Unsign.
Jahrhundert. Qualitativ schön ausgeführte und sehr dekorative Darstellungen typischer niederländischer Wasserlandschaften.
Beurteilung:
Wir danken Frau Ellis Dullaart, Assistant Curator, Dpt. Dutch and Flemish Old Master Paintings, Rijksbureau voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie (RKD), Den Haag, für die wissenschaftliche Beratung via E-Mail, anhand von Photos.
