Large mantel clock with a pair of candelabra
Ferdinand Barbedienne, Paris 2nd half 19th C. Bronze, fire-gilt. 3 pieces. Multiple stepped base with relief of laurel and acanthus friezes, symmetrical body framed by laurel garlands, crowned with bow decoration and a vase. Enamel dial with Roman minute scale and Arabic minute ring, Louis XVI hands. Dial inscribed «F. Barbedienne AParia». Eight-day-movement, striking on bell. Movement inscribed «Ed. Minart». Corresponding pair of candlesticks, each with seven arms and eight lighting points.
H 58, W 50, D 20 cm (clock),
H 75, W 25, D 13 cm (candlestick). Pendulum.
Condition report
Very good fully functional condition. Age-related patina. Gilding insignificantly rubbed, cover glass here and there with slight scratches. Bell missing. Arms of the candlesticks with slightly loose screw joints.
